Liguria

The Liguria region of north-west Italy is one of the most stunning stretches of coast in Europe, with resorts and towns including the opulent Portofino and numerous picturesque villages not forgetting the beautiful villages of the Cinque Terre.

We offer a selection of Incredible hotels form the Grand Hotels, to the smaller boutique properties, all offering the unique charm and elegance to match this incredible region.

Liguria is steeped in history and is certainly also ‘on trend’ as a region where you can explore lavish palazzi (mansions) or humble village churches and then simply enjoy all the food which the region is famous for such as olives, peaches, artichokes and tomatoes.

The region of Liguria is a slender strip of land at the top of Italy's boot, curving north-westwards around the Mediterranean, stretching from Tuscany to the French border. This area is often referred to as the 'Italian Riviera' and its seaside resorts and elegant promenades have attracted sun-hungry northern Europeans for more than a century.

The generally rocky coastline rises up to inland mountains which are increasingly steep and high towards the north-west where the Maritime Alps (reaching up to over 2,600m in height) meet the sea.

We have some beautiful hotels from the Riviera, stylish Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure, to the very pretty lesser known Sesti Levante all the way to the colourful fishing villages of the Cinque Terre. Getting around is easy, with the best way of exploring the coast being by train, taking you all the way to Monterosso al Mare one of the first villages of the Cinque Terre.
