Hotel near Torre Canne, Puglia

On the strip of Adriatic coast, which has some of Puglia’s most lovely sandy beaches, Hotel Canne Bianche is really well placed for exploring some of Puglia’s most interesting and beautiful towns, such as Fasano, Cisternino, Ostuni, Martina Franca, Locorotondo and Monopoli (all within 25km), and it is less than 2km from a small resort.
Hotel Canne Bianche, in its privileged position on the sea, is a bright, modern hotel and its interior is light and spacious, with real luxurious style and character. The décor has a feel of the sea and the marine theme even extends to some of the Hotel staff, with their striped “sailor” tops. Accents of Puglia, the white ceramics and local stone, highlight Canne Bianche’s very attractive and supremely comfortable public areas. The restaurant and lovely terraces are perfect for enjoying the typically Mediterranean and Pugliese cuisine. The bar serves great coffee and is quite a focal point, it seems.
Striking to us here at Long Travel, is the lovely atmosphere of beach hotel Canne Bianche. It is relaxed and casual and its “forever-smiling” staff manage to be professional, without being cold. The spa, when open, is also a superb bonus. However, it is the location, which is so special. Built about 60m from the sea and sort of side on to the beach, rooms at Canne Bianche tend to have a lateral view of the sea, in the distance. Even if you chose a room without a view, only a stroll past the spectacular pool of Canne Bianche, over manicured lawns, dotted with palms and ablaze with colour, brings you to a strip of sandy beach and the sea. Nature decides just quite how much sand there is and, on days when the sea sweeps right to the lawns, there is a grassy sunbathing area, so that guests miss not one moment of Puglia’s glorious sunshine. Heaven!
Mainly a beach resort, Torre Canne’s long, wide stretches of golden sand and shallow, transparent waters attract holidaymakers and locals, especially in high season and at weekends. Quite low-key at times, and absolutely buzzing with life at others, a small handful of gelaterie, restaurants, bars, shops, a short promenade and a striking lighthouse, render it interesting enough to potter around, day or night.
Beyond Torre Canne, in both directions, the sea is a dream. Going southwards, you will find a choice of serviced lidos, with golden sand, some with good eateries. Going north, the coastline is rocky, with a few small coves and access into the sea from the rocks, and the delightful fishing village of Savelletri.
