Hotel Giardinetto has been within the Primatesta family since Luciano Primatesta founded it as an Inn in 1930. Its continuous evolution has made it a point of reference for the hospitality industry on Lake Orta, as well as further afield.

The hotel lies directly on the beautiful shores of the romantic lake in an oasis of nature, it’s the ideal destination for relaxation and enjoying the surroundings.

It has all the standards of a modern hotel, but with its own charm, a breathtakingly view and the thoroughly romantic environment of the lake. The hotel has very comfortable rooms, an outdoor pool (for those who don’t wish to swim in the lake) along with a little private beach. The restaurant with its unique terraces directly on the water, has become famous for its regional and creative cuisine as well as for its wine cellar with over 450 Italian, French and International labels.

It is conveniently situated being positioned approximately 2 km from the stunning medieval village of Orta San Giulio, just across the water to the Island of San Giulio (considered to be the third most beautiful island in the world), the Sacro Monte, the UNESCO world heritage site is also a similar distance.

In addition, the hotel offers itself as an ideal base from which you can visit Lake Maggiore, Stresa and its charming islands, Locarno and Switzerland. Milan with its fine shopping is about 50 minutes away and the factory outlets of great design labels such as Alessi and Lagostina are closer. The Novara and Vercelli hill wineries and their vineyards are all local, as is the mountain resort of Mottarone from where you can see 7 lakes and the green Val d’Ossola with the Toce waterfalls and its typical cheeses.

Orta San Giulio, where we are, is considered one of the best medieval village of Italy and you can visit the San Giulio island and the Sacro Monte, Unesco heritage site Spring: visit to the botanic garden of private villas around lake Orta and lake Maggiore, beautiful trekking & bike suggestions, horse riding, helicopter.

Summer: water sports (water ski, wake board, wake surf, scuba diving, sup), trekking, biking, horse riding, boat rent, rafting, canoeing, hiking, helicopter.

Autumn: truffle hunting (2 hours from our lake), wine and cheese tasting, shopping, beautiful trekking & bike suggestions, horse riding, boat rental.

Winter: ski and snowboard with two ski resort in the area: at 25 minutes Mottarone mountain 1.500 meters with the view of 7 lakes, perfect for families or at 1 hour and 20 minutes Monte Rosa with 250 km of slopes between Alagna, Champoluc and Gressoney with the possibility to do freeride. Of course during the month of December there are many events dedicated to the Christmas time.
