Hotel Porta Felice is a very unique, boutique yet romantic hotel in Palermo, Sicily. Contemporary design with real style.

In one of the oldest parts of Palermo and close to the sea-front promenade and marina, Hotel Porta Felice is about a ten-minute walk from the Quattro Canti and within easy walking distance of some important palazzi, places of interest and Palermo’s famous Botanical Gardens. An area buzzing with city life, there are plenty of great cafes, bars and restaurants nearby. It is a real mixture of old streets and quite trendy businesses.

The former 18th century palazzo has been given a swish, elegant ultra-modern, designer feel and it is really attractive. Rooms are comfortable and spacious for a city hotel and all have a small balcony. The rooftop breakfast room/restaurant, with floor-to-ceiling glass, is bathed in light and has views over old Palermo.

Porta Felice’s superb spa is a real oasis after a day’s sightseeing. A starlit-ceilinged small, bubbly hydro-pool is fabulous. “emotional” showers, a Turkish bath and various types of massage will restore the body and spirit in a really calm and tranquil environment – a satisfying and enjoyable contrast to Palermo’s hectic city life.

“The Hotel Porta Felice in Palermo was first class in every way, beautifully done up in a very modern style with most comfortable rooms, just ten/fifteen minutes walk from the Quatro Canti, and fifty yards the other way on the main road a scruffy little cafe which served gorgeous ice cream (laced with booze!!) Five minutes away was the Piazza Marina with restaurants, bars and a square where one could sit and watch the world go by. The lovely little hotel restaurant on the roof top balcony really did serve excellent beautiful tasting food and wine and we would have been quite happy eating there every evening, although we did venture forth for a couple of meals.” Geoff & Thelma, Fleet
