Stylish, intimate boutique Il Nocino is a unique trullo hotel, suitable for families in Noci, Puglia and a little gem for romantic occasions. Long Travel client’s love Il Nocino’s attention to detail and finishing touches and think it feels really special.
3km from the old town of Noci, the unique Il Nocino Trullo Hotel has a lovely swimming pool, set in walled gardens. Quaint, but with real elegance, it is a little jewel. Unlike many masserie, which are in the grand style of a nobleman’s home, beautiful Trulli Masseria Il Nocino is smaller, quainter, and was once the home of a peasant farmer and his extended family. Yet, the restoration has capitalised on its humble beginnings and appealing architecture, to give it contemporary style and comfort for all to enjoy, be it families or couples wishing to honeymoon in Puglia.
Stone paths lead from Il Nocino’s boutique hotel through shady, collonaded walkways and under wisteria-filled pergolas, to a small beautifully renovated church, the reception and the delightful bar, which is under the shade of another gazebo. Close by, through a little gate usually locked to ensure guests’ privacy, is the entrance to the beautiful walled garden of Il Nocino, which protects the pool. This is a charming and unique picture, surrounded by lawns and Pugliese limestone terraces, within high, dry stone walls and bordered by Trulli. The well-kept gardens, with olive, walnut and fruit trees, are lush and flourishing. There are also tennis courts available for Long Travel guests.
Il Nocino’s bedrooms are dotted around the grounds, either in Trulli or in a short terrace of converted stone agritourism buildings, and each has its own, independent, external door. They are all comfortable and characterful, and the terracotta floors, exposed stone niches and traditional white ceramics give them a stylish elegance. The four standard rooms at Il Nocino are very attractive, with a particularly lovely approach, through stone arches in the dry-stone walls, into little gardens, with lavender, fig trees and rosemary. Each one has its own, furnished garden area, perfect for families or a romantic escape. The Trulli rooms are more spacious and are mostly entered from the pool area. Our favourite (room 106) has a sitting area and an arch to the sleeping area. One of the Trulli rooms (room 107) has two bedrooms and a shared shower room so is especially good for families.
