La Gabriella is a family friendly, self-catering apartment in Acireale in stunning Sicily. A lemon grove with views of the sea & Etna. Long Travel clients love La Gabriella’s fantastic views of Etna and the amazing Limoncello, made from the properties own lemons.
In a wonderful spot, overlooking lemon groves to the sea, this working fruit farm is a delight. Approx 4km north of Acireale, less than 1km from the nearest village and about 2km from the beach, the 4 hectare La Gabriella agriturismo is surrounded by the lush greenness of lemon groves and orchards of oranges, bananas and other fruit. Mount Etna towers up behind it and views of it are spectacular.
La Gabriella’s well cared for agritourist apartments are set amongst the lemon groves or around the main house, with its large terrace, covered area, table and benches and some lovely views, over the orchards, to the sea. In the extensive grounds are the barbecue and seating areas, and a wonderful sun terrace, with deck chairs, umbrellas, sunbeds and outside shower. Soak up the sun whilst looking over La Timpa Nature Reserve to the sea, in the distance; stroll through the lemon groves (approx 1km) and La Timpa; just sit and enjoy views to Etna and the sea – just perfect! The communal “reading room”, in the characterful “palmento” (wine press and store), is lovely and comfortable, too.
Acireale is spectacularly sited, above the rocky shore and surrounding lemon groves, 16km north of Catania, 36km south of Taormina, and near Etna. Famous for its puppet theatre and fine Baroque buildings, it is a pleasant and compact town to potter around, and absorb its typically Sicilian atmosphere. Just 5 minutes from the motorway, it makes an ideal base for exploring Sicily.
