Parco Cavalonga, is a superb family hotel with self-catering apartments in Ragusa, Sicily. It's an ideal agritourism escape. Secluded, modern boutique hotel with two great pools. Parco Cavalonga is set in beautiful countryside, in a secret corner of Sicily.
In an undiscovered corner of Sicily and hidden in a unique landscape of rolling fields of ancient carob and olive trees, criss-crossed by dry stone walls, Parco Cavalonga sits in a valley, with its own 18 hectares of natural parkland. Just over 100km from Catania airport, beautiful sandy beaches are only 10km away and two 18-hole golf courses are within about 6km.
Owned by the lovely Andrea family, the mother is an artist and the father, a kindly rather astute gentleman, keeps a watchful eye over the running of Parco Cavalonga, which is mainly done by some of the four sisters and their husbands. The welcome is always warm and there is a really genuine desire that guests have a good time and experience the best of the area.
Like a small hamlet, with clusters of cottages dotted about the grounds, Parco Cavalonga is based in the old farmhouse, at the heart of the “borgo”, the Casale Antico. Rooms are on two floors and are spacious, stylish and modern, with some attractive artwork and contemporary furnishings, sometimes with a glimpse of retro. The open-plan reception area, breakfast room and restaurant are charming. Breakfast is a veritable treat and food served at lunch and dinner is based on fresh, local ingredients and is absolutely delicious.
There are two stunning pools, which sit on sunny terraces, overlooking grassy slopes, gardens of exotic shrubs and wooded hillsides. Guests of Parco Cavalonga Hotel may use either pool, one of which is exclusively for the hotel guests. Parco Cavalonga Self- Catering guests can enjoy only the large infinity pool, which is situated closer to the apartments.
Parco Cavalonga is a delight and we can see why Italy’s “Dove” magazine voted it one of the best 8 agritourist places “of charm” to stay.
