Introducing Vinilia Wine Resort, a newly renovated haven nestled within a historic mansion surrounded by lush olive groves and sprawling vineyards. Situated in the serene countryside of Manduria, at the heart of northern Salento in Apulia, this resort offers an unparalleled retreat. Manduria, renowned for its Primitivo wine, lies in the Murge area of the Taranto province, a stone's throw away from the Ionian coast, and equidistant from Taranto, Brindisi, and Lecce. Embracing its central role, Manduria proudly bears the city motto, "The Salento has a heart," echoing the warmth and vitality of the region.

Vinilia stands as a meticulously restored mansion dating back to the early 1900s, originally commissioned by the aristocratic Schiavoni family of Manduria. Designed by a Roman architect, the structure embodies a neo-eclectic style reminiscent of the Roman school, boasting a manor-like facade with towers, turrets, and ornate embellishments evocative of a medieval castle.

Purchased later by the Lacaita/Parisi family, the mansion underwent a comprehensive restoration, rescuing it from oblivion while preserving its original grandeur. The restoration project focused on reclaiming the authentic character of the building, eliminating modern additions, and breathing new life into its historic walls.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a spacious hall exuding elegance and warmth, inviting moments of relaxation and conviviality. The resort features 18 rooms, including Classic, Superior, Castle Deluxe, Junior Suites with bathtubs, and a Suite, each meticulously designed and adorned with Salento's iconic star vault ceilings. Many rooms offer views of the expansive terrace or tranquil courtyard, equipped with modern amenities such as satellite TV, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and well-appointed bathrooms with spacious showers.

The Vinyard

Vinilia Wine Resort is set in the land of the Primitivo grape of Manduria. Just a few kilometres from their historic mansion is the Lacaita family’s winery: one hundred hectares of primitivo, negroamaro and orchards where you can experience the joys of tasting the finest vintages in the cool shade of the old pajaru, the trullo used as a resting place for farmers to eat in. A visit to the cellar in an old Masseria or fortified farm, going back to the early 1800s, is a fitting end to a journey of emotions, through the vineyards and gastronomic products typical of the Salento.

The Restaurant

The Casamatta Restaurant is elegant, an authentic dining experience with a typically Mediterranean heart. Chef Pietro Penna offers cuisine with character and passion. Raw materials from the Castle’s vegetable garden and local artisan products feature strongly while the chef’s French techniques enhance the flavours. An interesting wine list takes you on a journey around the world.

The Rooms

The lounge area is a pleasant, elegant area for guests to relax in when they arrive at Vinilia. It has corners for cosy convivial moments, sipping a glass of fine wine or a cocktail from the bar’s comprehensive list of drinks. The terrace outside and the garden offer various opportunities for events during evenings with the magically colourful sunsets, in the Mediterranean countryside where the age-old olive trees set the majestic scene.

A visit to the cellars in an old Masseria or fortified farm, going back to the early 1800s, is a fitting end to a journey of emotions through the vineyards and gastronomic products typical of the Salento. In addition to this, we can also offer the opportunity to visit 3 important wineries that tell the full and fascinating story of the Primitivo grape of Manduria from different points of view, tasting several labels as you learn of the techniques of production and transformation, all accompanied by traditional local products
