50 years ago, Georges Nagelmackers transformed his visions into reality by inaugurating the inaugural luxury Orient Express trains across Europe. Today, the saga is revitalized in Italy. You're cordially invited to embark on a captivating expedition aboard the Orient Express La Dolce Vita train.

A homage to the glamour, zest for life, and artistic fervour of the 1960s, La Dolce Vita, an Orient Express train, pays homage to life, the essence of freedom, well-being, and pleasure.

Orient Express La Dolce Vita is designed to explore the hidden gems and iconic cities of Italy, offering a luxurious and unique travel experience in refurbished 1980s carriages. This journey embodies a fusion of the "La Dolce Vita" lifestyle and the iconic Orient Express spirit.

Separate from the Venice Simplon Orient Express with La Dolce Vita we will offer 8 itineraries departing from either Rome or Palermo and travelling towards the North, the South, and Central Italy. The itineraries range from either 3 days / 2 nights or 2 days / 1 night.

The Cabins

Deluxe Cabins

The deluxe cabins feature cool colours concerning the architectural shell, as well as for the coverings, mirrored back walls and slatted ceilings. The sofa unfolds to a double bed at night with ottoman stools and a table which are perfect for enjoying a coffee. The space is designed to be welcoming and flexible at the same time. The contrast of materials with the softness of carpet, and the warmth of wooden ceiling slates, aim to ensure a comfortable travel experience.

Suite Cabins

The suite cabins are presented as master bedrooms, equipped with a sofa and a table with two armchairs to encourage conviviality on board. The shades of the furnishings range from a warm orange/terracotta to purple, with brass finishes. The surfaces featuring colours reminding of smoked antique mirrors, together with the ceiling in a glossy lacquered “burnt Sienna” colour, aim to increase the cabin’s perception of space.

The Lounge Bar and Restaurant

The lounge bar and the restaurant best represent typical Italian hospitality and conviviality, with sinuous forms dominating, running the length of the carriage from the bar station and through to the grand piano.

Train Composition

Each train set will comprise 12 carriages including 3 technical carriages 7 Passenger carriages accommodating 62 guests 1 Dining car seating 40 guests (there will be 2 seatings for the onboard meals) 1 Lounge bar car seating 40 guests Total: 12 deluxe cabins, 18 suite cabins, 1 La Dolce Vita suite Each cabin has an ensuite bathroom.
